We decided to spend our Thanksgiving in our dear Ann Arbor with our friends the Bryners. We originally weren’t going to leave until Wednesday afternoon but the weather didn’t look good so we left early Wednesday morning.
There is always a loud jubilee when we reunite our kids with the Bryners. There is definite cousin love that goes on between them all.
We delayed our Thanksgiving meal a day so Ben could join us since he was working at the hospital on actual Thanksgiving. It worked out great because we made almost of the food the day before so the day we had our big meal was less stressful. As usual with Ann Arbor, the weather was bitterly cold.
We kept up the tradition of an early morning walk with Andrea. One of the many reasons I love Kelly…”I’m going to make a snow angel guys!”
I was able to meet up with my old friends Candice and Lisa on Saturday morning. It was incredible to see how much their kids had grown!
Our whole family met Cousin Steven and Christie for lunch at The Cottage Inn. The big excitement was meeting their beautiful baby girl Amelia Arbor.
We went to the Toledo Zoo for “Zoo Lights” that evening. It was perfect! We got there early which meant we beat the crowds and it wasn’t too cold. The highlight was meeting this tortoise who was over 100 years old! The kids also got to visit with Santa and see some real reindeer.
Sunday was Charlie’s 10th birthday!!! What better place to be celebrating than Michigan. We went to church and it really felt like we had never left. One of my old young women, Tara Jibson, was giving her missionary homecoming talk. What?!?! Time goes by. All of the girls her age where there to see her which meant I got to see them, what a reunion.
I had an unfortunate incident with a wall that resulted in a large sliver going in under my nail. It was insanely painful but thankfully Ben has some crazy skills and took care of me.
We had a small birthday party for Charlie Sunday night. I say small but in reality there were 13 kids and 6 adults! The Gibsons came over to celebrate which is fitting because Eden was one of Charlie’s friends when he was a little toddler. We are all so happy Charlie is part of our family. I often ask myself if this kids is really as easy going as he seems, and the answer is YES!!
