I love that now we have lived here a few years we have some yearly Christmas traditions. We took a trip down to the National Botanical Gardens for the annual train exhibit. They have a different theme every year. This year was nautical so there were many boats and light houses.
The kids were anxious for it to open and were trying to peak inside.
I loved all the different varieties of poinsettias, topiaries, and the insanely large indoor Christmas tree.
After the Botanical gardens, we crossed the street to the capital to check out the National Christmas tree and decorations. Impressive. Conrad didn’t end up in hardly any of these pictures and I’m not sure why, but he was there and we love him.
The weekend before we flew to Utah, we decorated graham cracker houses with our neighbors, the Sosas (Nicolas and Antonio pictured). More candy was consumed than what ended up on the houses but they still turned out pretty awesome.
We watched a million Christmas movies, went and saw the lights at the Washington DC temple, and decorated Christmas cookies.
A few days before we flew to Utah, we had the kids open up their gifts from us. Having the present portion of Christmas over a week before Christmas is the way to go-stress gone! Dreams came true!
