Welcome to our "new blog." We have officially moved to Maryland and having more than one bathroom is truly as wonderful as we all imagined. We are also eager to get going on our list of "must sees" while we are living so close to our nations capital. Seth is working at the National Institute of Health (NIH) in Bethesda for 3-5 years so we have time to do it all. Postal Museum. 3/1

We took a quick Saturday morning trip into DC to go to the Postal Museum. This is a great museum for kids! It wasn’t crowded and nobody got bored- win,win!

They had half of truck of a semi the kids could climb in and pretend to drive. Conrad would have happily stayed in all day.

We watched a movie about the “inverted Jenny” the most famous stamp mistake in American history.  We also watched a movie about how mail is processed that we all found fascinating. I hadn’t realized how high tech the process is.

We thought of uncle Bevan when we read about John A. Thompson and how he delivered mail on 10 ft. skis between California and Nevada for 20 years. He used one long pole held in both hands to balance himself. Seth took a ride in the pony express with the kids and some scary plastered characters.
